Nominees for Best Idea 2017 announced!

Our Jury selected the nominees last Friday at Summer Lab #5

Three out of ten ideas were nominated last Friday to pitch at Partos Innovation Festival, congratulations to Online Echoes, SkinApp and ZINC! One of the three ideas will win The Spindle Innovation Award in the category ‘Best Idea 2017’ at the Festival on October 12.

This summer The Spindle facilitated its Summer Labs: five engaging Fridays to develop ideas into prototypes via design thinking. Ten ideas were selected by the independent Jury to join the Summer Labs. On September 8, the fifth and last Summer Lab took place, where the participants pitched their ideas to the jury.

The pitches came in different shapes, some even using a play to convince the jury of their idea. Enthusiasm and energy was widely felt and several teams emphasized how the Summer Labs have facilitated them in developing and realizing their ideas. The jury had a hard task to select the three best ideas.

The Spindle thanks all the teams for inspiring each other and participating in The Spindle Summer Labs.

After the lunch break, one of the members of the Inspiration Council, Anna Snel gave an inspiring talk about researching your assumptions. Who of the teams is involving partners from outside their field? Bram Alkema, also of the Inspiration Council, was the next speaker in this surprise session, in which he engaged with the teams through anecdotes, games and stories. How can we falsify our conclusions and test them?
