Community of Practicing Innovators

Practicing innovators in (Dutch) NGOs share inspiration and solve issues together

Since 2018, The Spindle facilitates a community of innovators in development. Members hold an ex- or implicit innovation role within a Dutch NGO. The community meets every two months, in which they discuss their professional issues around innovation within development cooperation. Chatham House Rules apply.

The community of practice is a group of innovation-minded participants. They either hold a position as an innovation manager or – officer, or they engrain innovation in their roles as a business developer or programme designer. In every meeting, they exchange inspirational content. Also, they discuss one or more organisational cases of one of the participants. These cases contain real innovation challenges and are therefore relevant for all. At the same time, other participants facilitate the consultation of the group, in which they can try out new problem-solving and intervision techniques and work on their facilitation skills.
