In 2015, 193 countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all – where no one is left behind. In practice, achieving this goal by 2030 means: taking explicit action to end extreme poverty, hold back inequalities and fast-track progress for the furthest behind. Enough reasons for The Spindle to establish the Dutch Platform Leave No One Behind.
The Dutch Platform Leave No One Behind consists of organisations and actors in the field of development cooperation. They develop, share and promote knowledge, innovative solutions and policies that contribute to ending poverty and exclusion. The Platform (+/- 50 members) meets regularly to discuss several issues related to the topic Leave No One Behind.
(Provisional) Agenda of this meeting
- Youth Leaders Approach of Plan International Nederland. Plan International has a group of international youth leaders visiting at the start of September for linking and learning.
- Trickle up. We’ll discuss the 10 principles of Trickle up. We split up in smaller groups to discuss the principles and reflect on the outcomes later on. Is something missing? What should be concrete next steps?
- Joyce Brummelman (Plan International) and Joyce Hamilton (COC) provide an update on their participation at The High-Level Political Forum 2019 last summer.
- Use of the guide on inclusive business partnerships. Is this guide useful? Is anything missing? Nice to know: Nelleke van der Vleuten (Endeva), supported by The Spindle and Partos, will facilitate a workshop on this subject at the ImpactFest on November 5 in The Hague.
