About the Index
The Global Social Inclusion Index should monitor to what extent countries’ governments live up to the SDGs 2030 agenda and whether they take action to include marginalised groups. The idea is that this index will be a joint effort by development organisations that advocate for one or more
marginalised groups, and with other organisations, such as CIVICUS. The indicators of the index should become target group-specific, to make it more interesting. The ambition is to develop and use the Global Social Inclusion Index on an international scale.
An index could make de most marginalised more
visible, be a benchmark, help with policymaking, and help with learning. The index can be used as a claim for making power!
